IGAD Member States National Media Workshop

The IGAD MS National Media Workshop was held to strengthen the communication capacity of staff. The workshop brought together managing editors and news editors of radio and TV stations, of print and digital outlets, as well as officials from the Ministries of Information during the two day workshop.
The purpose of the workshop was to share the best practices and establish a platform for sharing information.
Aim and Objective of the Workshop
The main aim of the workshop was for national media outlets to meet and exchange with counterparts in the region and IGAD Communication staff, share knowledge and best practices, and establish an exchange platform for news items and other audio visual materials such as video documentaries on IGAD activities, projects and programmes.
Activities undertaken
- Representatives from the ministries of information and national media outlets outlined the structure of their respective organizations to the participants
- Representatives from IGAD special institutions presented activities undertaken by the institutions
- The Disseminated and shared all presentations and other informative material to the participants
- The media interviewed and prepared some videos from representatives of IGAD special institutions.
- Aplatform/link was created for purpose of sharing information between the participants
- Developed a road map and an action plan to operationalize the platform
