Kenneth Tembe and Godfrey Livasia, IGAD Sheikh Technical and Veterinary School (ISTVS) staff, had a privilege to represent the institution in training of trainer course on agripreneurship. The five-day training was organized by the Agripreneurship Alliance in Kampala, Uganda from 1st to 5th April 2019. The training was used to unveil and induct the participants to the new curriculum of the Agripreneurship course developed by the Alliance at the beginning of 2019. Last year, the partnership between the school and the Alliance saw a group of students win $1000 in a competitive business plan write up.
“Experiential learning during training gives learners the confidence to actively participate, share their deep-seated thoughts and in the process learn with ease”, Said Ann Roulins, the president of the Agripreneurship Alliance.
During the training, participants were thoroughly taken through the business model canvas alongside other steps of writing a competitive business plan using a template developed by the Alliance.
The authors are deeply indebted to ISTVS and the Agripreneurship Alliance for the support and the opportunity offered.
